Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to a website everyone can use, and how to tell us if something gets in your way.

Our commitment

Pro Doors and Gates wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to find information and request service on our website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard most often used for websites in the United States.

What we've done

  • Text and backgrounds with strong color contrast
  • Every page works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to main content" link
  • Descriptive text (alt text) for photos
  • Clear headings and page structure for screen readers
  • Labeled form fields, with error and success messages that screen readers announce
  • Pages that still work when zoomed in to 400 percent, and on phones, tablets and computers
  • Motion that stops when you turn on "reduce motion" on your device, and a keyboard control to pause the homepage photo slideshow
  • Links that open a new tab tell you so
  • Automated accessibility checks and hands-on keyboard testing on every page

Known limitations

  • Google Map: the map on our Contact page comes from Google, and we can't fully control how accessible it is. Our full address and a "Get directions" link are on the same page as plain text.
  • New content: we check new pages and photos when we add them. If something slips through, please tell us.
